Tomorrow is the big day! We will be heading to the Museum of Nature for a fun filled day. Thank you to those who were able to volunteer on this day and an extra thank you for meeting us there!
We continue to learn about landforms. We have watched a variety of videos to give us an understanding of different types that we can find. More specifically, the ones we will be focusing on are: Rivers, Ponds, Lakes, Oceans, Mountains, deserts, hills, plains, valleys and coasts. An information sheet will be sent home to help review these concepts. The students will be creating their own booklets about these landforms. They will soon be creating a diorama showing their knowledge of these concepts. We are still in need of shoe boxes for this.
The next concept we will be looking at is using our knowledge of landforms to investigate how people live and the types of jobs they hold. The regions we will focus on are: Hudson Bay Lowlands, Great lakes, and the Canadian Shield.
Science: We continue to investigate types of forces and how friction and gravity are an important part of our lives. We will be conducting experiments to help with this concept. We are in need of toy cars for the experiments (example: Hot Wheels).
Math - A sheet went home outlining different strategies on how to show your work when adding and subtracting. This will be a focus for the next while.
